Milford Sound
One of the highlights of the trip so far was our visit to Milford Sound. We have loads of photos but we are unable to load them at the moment the second photo gives an idea of how vast they are! We spent a couple of hours on the sound itself and camped nearby.

Lake Te Anau
Today we went tramping on part of the Kepler track. We caught a water taxi across the lake and then walked 10 miles around the lake and by the side of a river. The scenery was spectacular and constantly changing, and it didn't rain!
We were joined by Andy, a German backpacker who was doing the 3 day Kepler track. We left him with another 14km to go and went to the pub.

Oamaru
We're on the east coast of the South Island in a little town called Oamaru. It has a historic precinct containing many well preserved Victorian buildings dating from its heyday as a refrigerated meat shipping capital. It also has a steampunk museum. I won't try to explain the concept but the museum says it is "celebrating the past and future with an ethos of tomorrow as it used to be".
